Past Life Regression: A Real Session Story | Chaitanya Raj

The Fear That Had No Story
** By Lt. Col. Rajesh Sharma (Retd.), Chaitanya Raj **
A woman came to see me last year. She said, "I'm scared of water. Not the sea, not swimming pools. I mean I can't even stand near a running tap for too long. My chest just tightens."
No memory of drowning. No accident as a child. No family story to explain it. She had already seen a few doctors, a therapist, even a cardiologist, before someone told her to try past life regression.
I spent over twenty years in the Army before I became a hypnotherapist. I never imagined my second career would involve listening to people's souls instead of their service records. But here I am.
What happened in that session
We started the way every session starts. Slow breathing. A gentle induction. Nothing dramatic, nothing like the movies.
About twenty minutes in, her breathing changed. Her hands curled slightly. And then she started speaking, in her own voice, but saying things she would never normally say.
She talked about a riverbank. A flood. Her legs stuck under something heavy. She was young. She didn't survive.
When she came back, she cried. Not from sadness, she told me later, but from relief. For the first time, her fear had a shape. And a fear with a shape is a fear you can finally deal with.
Six weeks after that session, she messaged me. She had taken her kids on a short boat ride. Something she hadn't done in fifteen years.
Why I'm telling you this
I didn't start believing in past lives because a book convinced me. I started believing because I kept seeing it happen. People walk in carrying something heavy they can't explain, and they walk out lighter, just because their mind finally had somewhere to put the feeling.
You don't need to believe in past lives for this to work. What matters is simpler than that. Our subconscious often speaks in stories, not facts. And when we give it space to tell that story, somewhere safe, something in the body lets go.
The questions I hear again and again
Different people, different words, but the same handful of questions keep coming up in my clinic. If any of these sound familiar, you're not alone.
** Why do I feel like I already know this person I just met? **Some connections feel instant, almost old. In regression work, we often trace that pull back to a shared history from before.
**Why does this fear make no sense in my current life?**A fear of heights, fire, small spaces, a certain sound. When nothing in this life explains it, sometimes the story is further back than you think.
**Why do I keep repeating the same pattern, in love or at work?**Same type of partner. Same fight with authority. Same block right before things go well. These loops often have a root, and it isn't always in this lifetime.
**Why do I feel like an old soul, or out of place in my own life?**A lot of people carry this feeling quietly for years before they ever think to ask about it.
What is my purpose here? This is the question I hear the most. People don't always come looking for the past. Often they come looking for clarity about now.
What a session actually feels like
There's no swinging pocket watch. No stage hypnosis drama. It's closer to a deeply guided meditation. You stay aware the whole time. You're never unconscious and never out of control. My job is to guide you gently, ask the right questions at the right moment, and hold the space steady while your own mind does the real work.
Some people see vivid scenes. Others get a feeling, a color, a sense of a time and place, without a full picture. Both are useful. Both are worth exploring.
If you're thinking about trying this
You don't need a dramatic phobia or a recurring nightmare to benefit from past life regression. Being curious is enough. A quiet feeling that something needs unraveling is enough.
All I ask is that you come with an open mind and let it unfold at its own pace. The story that needs to come out will come out, when it's ready.
If you'd like to explore this for yourself, you're welcome to book a session at our clinic in Vashi and Belapur.
